Last night our Parents as Teachers Group held a music event for the family. So our dear friends and us decided to picnic and play at the park for supper and then head over and attend the music event.
The music night started with creating streamers and then dancing around. Let me just say there were some “great” moves being done by all:)
Then we headed upstairs and created and played a drum while listening to a jazz band. Corbin did an excellent job of playing his drum to the beat!
Next stop, water painting to the sounds of strings playing classical music. This was Corbin’s favorite station. (I think it was everyone’s favorite. It was quiet, relaxing, and calm:) Corbin used watercolors to create his masterpiece.
Then we made cowboy hats to “hoe down” music. The hat decorated by Corbin looked great, but the downfall was it was entirely too big for him to wear. No worries, Daddy took over the modeling duties.
Finally, to end the evening, the kids experimented creating their own music with a variety of instruments.
This morning we’ve already danced with the streamers and played with the drum again for minutes upon minutes. I would say last night was a hit. We all had a great time!
