Library Tour

For those asking and curious to know here’s a quick peek into my school library.

I went with a Dr. Seuss inspired theme.  I have his quotes around the walls and the Lorax inspired trees.  I also have a special area with a “readbox”. For now it’s stocked with some of my favorite books, but the kids will be adding their favorites to it soon.

This library was put together and finished before school started because of my awesome family.  Chris was a HUGE help and spent hours with me working on it.  But my parents, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and Chris’ grandma also spent a whole day working tirelessly to help me put everything up.  Thank you SO much!

1st Day of Preschool

On Tuesday Corbin went to his first day of preschool…and loved it!

He was super excited when he got up that morning knowing that it was his first day of school.

When we got there he was slightly shy, but warmed up quickly when he found the tub of construction vehicles.

So although Corbin did great at drop off Chris and I were a different story.  Not going to lie, there were some tears (mostly from me).  It was hard to leave my baby with people I didn’t know surrounded by kids whom I had never met.  I knew this preschool was great, so with many prayers and a box of Kleenex I drove to work and knew that he would be fine.  (Note: the above picture is in the morning at drop off…puffy eyes that were holding in a torrent of water works!)

At pick up he was just as excited as when we dropped him off and he’s already looking forward to tomorrow…his 2nd day of preschool.

Yea Corbin!  Here’s to a great start of your long school career.

Feeling the Change

This week we were feeling the changes.  Corbin had been doing so well at daycare, but this week it hit him that mom going back to work was a permanent change.  We had some tears (and by we I mean Corbin AND I:).  But we got through the week.

We have one more big change coming on Tuesday.  Corbin begins his preschool.  We went to an open house on Thursday night and he left SO excited.

Hopefully, after this week we can finally get into our regular schedule and settle into our new normal.

Needless to say we’ve been running on survival mode around here.  But we’ve still been finding time to have some fun :)

What’s Wrong?

Corbin rarely has trouble with bedtime.  We are very blessed and pray that this continues.

So tonight we heard him whimpering and Chris went in to check because that’s unusual for Corbin.

Here was the following conversation:

Chris: “What’s wrong?”

Corbin: “The animals are out of the barn (referencing his Little People barn and animals).  It might rain tonight.  They need to be in the barn and I can’t get out of bed because it’s nighttime.”

Oh my sweet boy!  Chris fixed the “problem” and then came out and we giggled:)  How can you not love that little guy!

Beary Good Friends

Beary is still beloved by Corbin.  So much so that he decided, this week, that Beary needed some good friends.

We’ve had these two bears that are the same and look similar to Beary but Corbin never did much with them until now.

Corbin has deemed these twin bears as Beary’s good friends.  He even named them himself.

So here’s introducing Beary with his good friends Shyly and Rattley.  (They are at their “home” in the kitchen, by the way.  Corbin created a little cave with pillows, the “sink” is the red step stool, and they are seated waiting for food.  What fun we are having with these three bears;)

On top of naming them Corbin has had some dialogue about whether Shyly and Rattley were girls or boys.  Beary is a boy, but after much thought and consideration (and based on what, I don’t know) Corbin has decided that they are both girls.  Oh my!

I’m excited to see what adventures and mischief these three bears create with Corbin’s imagination!
