Color Run and Elephants

Corbin’s school did a color run this week.  Everyone wore white tees and followed a course to run around the school.  At designated areas volunteers threw powdered color on them.

Here’s his class all clean and ready to run.

First stop pink…

After several other colors purple was at the end of the line.  But of course you don’t just go one time.  These kids ran around 25 minutes and got colored out!

Then this weekend we headed to the zoo to see a special elephant exhibit opened only for employees at Grandma Tammy’s work.  It was a great morning to be at the zoo!

Corbin and I have one more day of school and then it’s officially summer break.  We are winding down and ready to get some R&R out in the sun by the pool and lake.

Graduation and A Gap

Chris’ sister graduated from college this weekend.  We made the trip to see her walk across the stage, spend time with Kati, and celebrate her accomplishment.

Here is Corbin reading while we travel.  His legs crossed, his cute little shoes with no socks, and his serious face…scrumptious!

The hotel had a pool so we made sure to get there early so we had plenty of swim time.

The big event…Kati’s graduation!

It was a busy and fun filled weekend.  Congrats Kati, we are so proud of you!

And then the next day, this happened….

Corbin is not diggin’ his front gap.  He has asked every day since if his tooth has started to grow back yet.  Poor guy, losing teeth can be a hard adjustment.

Multiplication with Mommy

This was our drive to school game this morning: “Multiplication with Mommy.” Corbin gave me multiplication problems and I had to solve them.

He started off easy: 1x1, 3x3, 5x5…yes, I was totally diggin’ the game and was onboard.

Then he turned up the intensity: 10x10, 11x11,…I was still hangin’ with those.

Our last one: 16x16…I gave an answer, which I thought was correct and Corbin disagreed. Corbin very patiently said “Mom, type it into the calculator when you get home and write down the answer so I can see it when I get home. The answer is 256, Mom.”

His answer was correct.

But I have nothing to worry about because Corbin said we could work on multiplication this summer. Great, I have a 6 year old math tutor who is relentless….my summer is not looking so good.

I really do not like “Multiplication with Mommy”; it’s too hard!
