Pipe Cleaners and Strainers
Corbin tried out a new activity. I gave him pipe cleaners and a couple of strainers. The goal is to try and get the cleaners into the holes of the strainers.
He did a couple, but it was challenging for him.
However, he really liked playing with the pipe cleaners and of course the strainers became a new place for the cars to drive on. Oh, the cars:)
This is definitely an activity we will continue to do. It will be interesting to watch his proficiency grow in putting the pipe cleaners in the holes as he becomes older and has more dexterity and hand eye coordination.

Water Beads
Our household has discovered the joys of water beads!
The water beads start as hard small rock type substances. After being soaked in water for 12 hours they form into gel like beads. They feel a bit slimy and gooey; it’s a fascinating texture that Corbin adores!
He scoops them, pours them, feels them, and sits and watches the beads as he bounces them in the bowl.
The only caution is that you need to supervise the use of the beads closely so they do not go into the kiddos mouths.
Corbin (and I… won’t lie, I enjoy them too!) love water beads! They are so much fun!

Fall Fun
This past weekend started with a trip to Kansas State University to visit Aunt Kati!
We had a great time walking around campus on a beautiful fall afternoon.
Being back on campus made me feel old. Seriously, wasn’t it just seconds ago that I was in school myself? And now I’m vising my sister-in-law and I have a baby…what!?!
After visiting Aunt Kati we headed to the lake to see Grandma and Grandpa! We had a blast picking out pumpkins, decorating them, making sugar cookies, and playing outside.
What a great weekend of activities and seeing some very special people.

Monkey See Monkey Do
Corbin has begun to repeat things he sees and will also sometimes repeat things he has heard.
Last weekend he followed Daddy around and did what Daddy did.

Fall Festival
Our church hosted a fall festival Saturday so we stopped by to partake in the fun!
We jumped around…
Picked a Corbin size pumpkin (that Corbin insisted he had to carry around)…
Decorated the pumpkin…
Took a car ride in a unique car…
And tossed some gourds into cans…
It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed all the activities, food, and fellowship. Yea for fall!

Blogging, it’s fun, but it takes time. However, since I’m keeping record of Corbin’s “growing up” I feel like it’s time well spent.
Facebook. Started it, but never got hooked. Thank goodness, because I can see how people lose hours of their life checking up on other people’s lives.
Twitter. Haven’t tried it and don’t plan on starting it. I just can’t imagine what 140 characters of wisdom I could pass on that people would want to read.
I’ve tried to avoid many different social medias by not even starting them because I just don’t want to have them drain my time.
However, I was in class on Saturday and someone was presenting about a Web 2.0 program called Pinterest. I had heard of it but had resisted checking it out…avoidance is key when it comes to these things.
But when one is sitting in class with a laptop and internet access in front of them….well then all one has is time:) So I went and signed up and checked out Pinterest.
IT IS ADDICTIVE. IT IS AMAZING. IT IS NOTHING BUT A TIME TAKER!! Beware, I’m not writing this post to encourage you to check out Pinterest. If you do so, that’s fine, but just know I’m writing this as a cautionary tale. Pinterest is a vortex that pulls time away from you.
What is Pinterest? A place you can search for and "pin” ideas on different boards. So if you want recipes you search for different recipes and then pin them on your recipe board. Need birthday party ideas? Search for those and then pin them on your birthday party board.
It really sounds simple and not so addictive, but it is.
I’m sad to say I’m now a Pinterest addict. I need help. I blame my 8 hour library media technology class on Saturday for giving me the freedom and time to begin Pinterest.
Masters Class: $1,500
Gas Money to drive to class: $25
Addiction to Pinterest: Priceless

Retired and Ready to Golf
I cracked up when I saw Corbin in this outfit.
I thought he looked adorable, but also reminiscent of a retired gentleman ready to go hit the golf course.
Corbin also cracks me up because he can be really sweet sometimes….
and then switch on a dime and be oh so ornery too….
Corbin you certainly do keep life interesting!

Morning Traffic Report
This is the morning traffic report as told to Momma by Corbin.
No apparent backups on the OpenTray Highway. All toast traffic is moving smoothly.
However, watch out on PlasticTray Interstate; there appears to be a massive chomp down on all speeders. I repeat: toast nation, watch out there is major traffic control on PlasticTray Interstate and all speeding will be dealt with severely. The police are literally taking a bite out of crime.
It’s not looking pretty out here. Avoid this major road at all costs. Your morning commute could be slow going here.
Finally, beware of a slow moving train at the corner of Bib Road and Arm Avenue. It appears to be a short, but very slow moving train that has traffic backed up.
Just another morning at breakfast with a little boy who makes almost any object into cars, trains, or planes:)
