I found a great new book at the library, Animal ABC, by Marcus Pfister. Each page has two rhyming sentences packed with simple, but interesting information for different animals. From A-Z each page has a colorful illustration, two sentence description, name of the animal, and capital and lowercase letters.
I highly recommend this book for young kids and early readers. In fact, I’m going to order one for my school library.
So, this book inspired Corbin and I to create our own ABC book. I cut lined paper in half. Then Corbin wrote each letter at the top, decided what to draw, and illustrated. I then wrote the word of the item at the bottom of the page.
The creativity and thought he put into what he was going to draw that began with each letter was fun to watch. Here’s a few examples:
We had a great time creating our own ABC book!
