Legos and Logic

Something that Corbin likes to do is put together Lego sets.  He likes to follow the directions and I like that there are directions that actually make something at the end.

My free build with Legos always turns into a rectangular house…boring!  So, these sets have helped us practice reading directions, following sequence of steps, and understanding different ways to build.

We were at the library the other day and I saw this logic puzzle book.  Flipping through it I knew that this was not an activity for Corbin and I, but it was perfect for Corbin and Chris.  So I checked it out.

I have a limited mathematical mind.  It’s just not my strong suit, but not to worry I have many others;)

Corbin and Chris sat down one evening and they both enjoyed puzzling over the problems together.  Chris guided Corbin along and he loved it!

I probably should try some of those problems by myself so I can grow in the area of math.  Good idea, but probably won’t happen.  That just sounds like torture.  Plus the book has the answers in the back and I’m weak.  I look after about 2 minutes!

Logic and Legos have been happening around here this week.
