Corbin had his first field day today! So I took off work and Chris was able to get away from work to come see him as well.
It was a cool cloudy morning, but by the picnic lunch it was bright, sunny, and warm. I would call it a pretty perfect day!
Here are some of the events Corbin and his class did:
Nothing like putting two 4 year olds in the same hula hoop and having them run together. It’s entertainment!
Heads are good for many things…like balancing a beanbag. “Look Mom, no hands!”
Ball throwing might need a bit more practice
Jumping hoops…no problem.
Two of the more unusual events was the above pictured frog toss. Where the frog is to land on the lily pads. The other was the chicken toss. Rubber chickens were flying everywhere…duck and cover it was raining chicks!
The events ended with the traditional sack races. Half of the participants threw in the bag on the return trip. It’s hard hopping in those bags But, Corbin stuck it out and slow and steady made it up and back hoping all the way.
Our time ended with a picnic lunch and snow cones!
The first field day is now in the books and I am sure there will be many many more to follow.
