My New Love

I spotted a colleague of mine using one of these last year.  And I thought it was probably expensive and I would never have one.  But, after talking with her, trying hers out, and looking around myself I now have one of my very own.  It’s literally a dream come true.

Meet my new love….my little laminator!

It’s amazing…

affordable…

and produces a quality lamination.

This lamination is so much better than what the laminators at school do.  It’s a thick lamination that will hold up to a lot of wear and tear.

If you are a teacher or laminate a lot of things I HIGHLY recommend this personal laminator by Scotch.  I ordered mine off of Amazon.

Seriously, how did I live without this little beauty.  My little laminator has it’s own little drawer at my house and I loving use it on a regular bases.

Love me a laminator!!

Kamp Out and Friends

Last week Corbin had the chance to attend a day camp for the week.  It was sponsored by Kamp Kanakuk at a local Christian school here in town.

Corbin spent each day doing rock climbing, water slides, games, zip lines, singing, devotionals, and just having fun.  He had an amazing time and I was really impressed with the organization and level of professionalism the counselors had.

On the last day parents were invited to attend the last hour of the day. The kids sang, had awards, heard a small message, and had a bunch of cute call and response action type activities.  It was fun, in fact I’ve decided I want to go to campSmile

This was Corbin’s counselor and “tent buddies” that he was grouped with all week.

Right after his last day of camp we headed to the lake.  We had some families from church come out and spend a day with us at the lake.

First Corbin helped make the homemade ice cream our guests were going to enjoy.

Then everyone showed up and we played in the water, tubed, water skiied, wake boarded and enjoyed a beautiful fun filled day out in the sun.  We stopped only to eat lunch and supper.  (note only pictures of the kids were taken…we adults decided that we didn’t need bath suit pictures of us having fun)

It was a full day, but we all enjoyed it!

The kiddos claimed the paddle boat as the kid’s boat.  They would all pile in and take each other out to our mat or around the dock.  It was super fun to watch.

Corbin and friends…precious.

Random Catch Up

Well, we’ve been at the lake for a long weekend and we enjoyed….the rain and cloudsSad smile  But oh well, we still relaxed and had a chance to hop on the boat and swim for a bit here and there.

Earlier this week I took a quick girls trip for a few days; shopping, talking, eating, more shopping…really, what could be better!

While I was gone Corbin and Chris had VBS at church.  This was his first year to participate and he loved it!

The Children’s Choir also sang in church earlier this month.

We celebrated my nephew, Cole’s 3rd birthday, Batman style.

IMG_20160626_143404

And earlier this month we watched a parade at a little town near our lake.  Since we don’t have a small town vibe where we live it’s super fun to enjoy different activities, like parades going down main street where there’s one stop light.

Waiting for the big event….

IMG_20160618_092728

We’ve been going to this parade for several years, but this was the first year Corbin was really into waving at the people and getting the candy they threw out.

There you have some random tidbits of what’s been happening around here.

Happy 4th of July!  Let’s celebrate all that’s great about our country…and there’s a lot.

Sometimes You Win and Sometimes You Lose

This weekend at the lake Corbin and Chris had a pool noodle battle.

Sometimes Corbin won and Daddy lost…

and sometimes Daddy won and Corbin lost.

Either way it was a win for me because it was so fun to watchSmile.

Win, Corbin tried out the new “easy skier” and he got up and did great.  Lose, I don’t have a picture of him standing up.

Win, we took Chris to the movie, Finding Dory, in 3-D!  That was fun and Corbin looked super cute in his glasses.  Lose, they hurt the bridge of my nose and by the end I was super ready to take them off!

There you go, sometimes you win and sometime you lose!

Pictures, Teeth, and Paint

Many of our summer activities take place around water, whether at the pool or the lake. And because of this, my phone is often not handy. So even though we’ve been to the lake and the pool I have no photos (which I’m going to try and do better about).  That’s my goal this week…it’s good to have goals.Winking smile

What we do have are teeth.  In the past month Corbin has lost 3 teeth and two of those happened within a week of each other!

This bottom tooth came out while he was chewing. Luckily, Corbin was able to get it out of his mouth before he swallowed. But, as I was cleaning up from supper I almost (accidentally) threw his tooth down the sink with the crumbs I had wiped up. Thankfully it landed right next to the drain and was not lost…wahoo! That was one lucky tooth that is now safely with the Tooth Fairy.

This weekend Corbin attended a birthday party where they were instructed on how to paint a dolphin. He loved it! They have sessions for adults (that include wine) and I think it sounds like fun.

Listening to instructions…

Weekend Travels

We had a family reunion to attend this weekend.  So on our way there we stopped at Lego Land to check it out for the first time.

There were some amazing “mini” sized landmarks built out of Legos.  Of course the baseball and football stadiums were two of the favorites with my family.

“Howdy, Lego Cowgirl!”

IMG_20160603_103713

Corbin built some type of attack machinery to get the giant spiders that Dad built crawling on the mountain.  Oh those boys had fun.  I have little Lego creativity so I watched and cheered them on.

IMG_20160603_110647IMG_20160603_110700

Then it was off to the races.  Corbin (and Dad) built a race car and tested it out on the track.  With a few modifications his race car was really rolling.

IMG_20160603_123201

Here we are stylin’ in our glasses to watch the 4-D Lego short movie.  We felt the wind, the snow, and the rain throughout.  We all enjoyed it.

IMG_20160603_120832

Our time there ended with a ride that took us up to the sky.  The faster you pedaled the higher you went, so we pedaled our way up to the top and loved it.

IMG_20160603_130719

Our time at Lego land ended and we piled back into the car to head to a state park for the family reunion.

IMG_3245

The first night we all got into our lodge after supper.  So we stayed in and played some rousing rounds of Uno.  Let me tell you the boys pummeled me every round.  I never won, ever, and I wasn’t trying to let them win, they were just good and I perhaps was not up to their level.  Don’t worry, I’ll be backWinking smile

IMG_20160603_204434

The next day was full of out door activities from walking, to mini golf, hiking up to an observation tower, playing at the playground, and participating in some intense games of corn hole we spent a full day out and about.

IMG_3251IMG_3254IMG_3262

The evening we attended a melodrama, it was Corbin’s first live stage production.  The crowd had different sounds to make for each characters and even was asked to throw popcorn at the villain.  It was a great way to end the day!  (No picturesSad smile)

The next morning we got up, some of us earlier than others.  Surprisingly, it was Corbin who slept until 8:30.  So he was still in his pajamas when we took these pictures.  But, once we were all up and around we ate breakfast, hung out, and did the goodbyes and headed for a long trip home.

Here were the kiddos on the trip this year:
