Friday Favorites
My mom’s small group is close to completing the book Unglued by Lysa Terkeurst. It’s awesome! If you ever feel controlled by your emotions, maybe lose your cool here and there, and/or just feel like you need to get a better perspective this is the book for you.
As a young mom who stayed at home with a toddler I certainly felt at times that my emotions were controlling me. Sometimes….just sometimes…I may have acted as bad as a three year old having a tantrum. This book certainly helped give me some practical applications and good thoughts based on Bible verses and truths from the Word of God.
If you’re looking for one more book to read before the summer ends this would be my recommendation.
If you are a coffee and chocolate lover this little 100 calorie snack is for you! Chobani has these small greek yogurt cups flavored strongly with coffee and a hint of chocolate. It is YUMMY! A cool, delightful, small treat to have on a hot summer’s day. Try one, I think you’ll love it. (Disclaimer: I’m not a huge greek yogurt fan, but I loved these.)
What’s summer with out some great music? Spotify is like Pandora, a free online music provider. But instead of having music chosen for you (like Pandora does) Spotify allows you to choose each title you want to listen to.
If you have a popular song you want just search and add it to your playlist. Although I still love Pandora, I’ve really liked Spotify when I’m in the mood to hear some of my favorite titles.
Of course, Corbin always makes my favorite list! He’s a pretty lovable guy:)

Kisses, Hugs, and Tractor Time
Chris’ siblings and family were all in town so we went to his mom’s house for the day to visit.
Corbin gave lots of hugs and kisses to all. Including me, Baby Clara, and Grandma.
Yeah, hugs and kisses are nice, but Corbin was much more excited and thrilled about going on the scooper with Papa Lee! He had a blast and took his job as driver very seriously…
and as indicated by the last picture we still put him in the student driver category with heavy supervision;)

Updates
In less then two weeks our life is going to change. It’s been in the process of change, but it’s all going to start actually happening soon!
It all started in January when we put our house up for sale and sold it within two weeks!
Then in April we started building a new house, I gave my final master’s presentation, and I interviewed for an elementary library position and got it!
In May I officially graduated with my Masters in Library Science.
So, the summer has been a waiting period for changes to happen. Beginning in August I will start my new job working as a school librarian on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Friday mornings. This position allows me to have all day Monday and Friday afternoons off so I can still spend some time with Corbin during the week.
Corbin’s changes begin in August as well. He’s going to preschool! He’ll have a great time spending his day learning, playing, and enjoying new experiences.
Then our final big change should happen at the end of September when we move into our new house.
So, this summer has been about soaking up this time at home enjoying our last few weeks before major changes rock my world and Corbin’s.
We are both really excited but understandably a little nervous. So, the blog may be quieter as these changes come upon us. But I’ll certainly keep you updated on our transitions!

Water Fun
We’ve spent a ton of time at the lake and the pool, but of course I have no pictures! Hopefully, I’ll get some before the summer is up.
But we also used our many diaper points and got a “free” water table. Corbin has been enjoying it!
On this particular day we didn’t put on the swimsuit and he was acting SO silly by pushing out his tummy and putting it in the water…oh my!
We also got a water sprinkler as a gift and some friends came over to help us break it in. The kids ran through the sprinkler, played with the beach ball, and “swam” in the little pool.
Corbin has really turned into a water bug this summer and I’m loving it! I’ve always enjoyed the water and grew up spending my summer days at the lake, so I’m very excited that Corbin has developed this love as well.
Yea for summer days spent in and around the water!

Tuesday Tidbits
This was Corbin’s first “movie” experience. We went and saw an animal documentary at an IMAX theater. He did great and really enjoyed it!
Our little dinosaur baby hatching.
Corbin and I have had some fun summertime adventures!
