Always/Sometimes/Never

Here are some tidbits of information about me because really you can’t get enough of that;)

Always

*It’s always cold in our house…for me.  Chris would disagree and say it’s often hot, but I’m always cold.

*I always like my bed made in the morning.

*I always go to bed early and get up early. I’m talking geriatric early at night and long before the sun comes up early in the morning.

Sometimes

*I take a bath sometimes.  I love them!  But I think I love them because of my aforementioned bullet of always being cold.  A bath is one sure way to get warm.

*Sometimes I make coffee in the morning.  I like it, I just don’t drink it daily.  But if it’s cold or rainy then I will make a pot of dark rich Starbucks coffee (usually decaffeinated…I know for many of you that’s the point, caffeine.  But I just like the rich dark taste of coffee)

*I take naps.  I have an afternoon crash where I am SO tried. I often fight it, but sometimes I succumb and take a quick nap.

Never

*I never drink diet soda…yuck.

*I never drink sweetened tea….double yuck.

*I have never liked snakes.  Gross me out!  Unfortunately , Corbin wants to go into the snake building every time we are at the zoo…it’s torture. (Sidenote:  Corbin never knew there was a building at the zoo which housed snakes until Daddy went with him and introduced this little exhibit to him.  Super double thanks to Dad for that one;)

Doctor Doctor

Corbin went for his 3 year checkup.  Here are his stats:

Height: 38 inches (65% percentile)

Weight: 30 lbs  (34% percentile)

Don’t mess with this big boy;)

The next day we went to the dentist for the first time.  Corbin watched me get my teeth cleaned, and then he set up in the chair with me.

The dentist counted his teeth (there are 20), and then they let him pick a prize and gave him a toothbrush.

Basically this visit was to get him ready for the next one in 6 months where they are going to clean his teeth.  He did a great job opening his mouth and letting them roam around in there.

Doctor visits completed for now!

3rd Birthday Party–On the Farm

We celebrated Corbin’s 3rd birthday with a farm party.

The event was hosted at our church which allowed plenty of room for the kids to play and the adults to talk.

This is the Life…

when you’re at Grandma and Grandpa’s house!

WP_20130411_002

Corbin and I spent some time with my parents while Chris was out of town for work.  Someone might have been just a tad spoiled while we were there.  (Ok, maybe I was too:)

Let’s just say we are back at home and we are experiencing some post grandparent let downs.  What’s this cooking, laundry, and cleaning business all about!?!?  And Corbin has to pick up his toys, walk to his destinations, and not just lay on the couch!?!?!

Yup, life is getting real around here:)

For Her…Yes

I saw my future flash before my eyes the other night.

We went out to eat at a restaurant to celebrate Chris’s birthday and our waitress was a cute young college girl who was very friendly to Corbin.  They hit it off right away.

Well, supper was taking a while to come so I suggested Corbin color.  He adamantly refused that idea from me.  But only minutes later our waitress came.  She was chatting about the food being a few more minutes out and then she asked Corbin if he would color a picture for her while he waited.  What did the boy say:

“Sure I can!” and he whipped out those crayons and started coloring away.

My mouth dropped and I saw before my eyes my little boy grow up. The future laid before me when Corbin finds a great girl and he will listen to her and take her suggestions and not mine.

Right then and there I was determined that an arranged marriage needs to happen;)  I kid, I kid…kind of.  I am praying now that Corbin will find and marry a girl that I am in love with so that hopefully I can still influence Corbin just through his wife…sounds like a plan to me;)

Ahh, growing up is hard to do.

Super Star

Target $1.00 spot did not disappoint me yesterday.  I discovered a blue microphone for Corbin’s enjoyment (and possibly mine too, but that’s a different story;).

So here’s what happened when I gave him the microphone today:

He asked “Can I talk into the microwave?”

IMG_7707[1]

I replied “It’s a microPHONE and yes that’s what it’s used for.”

“How does it work?”

IMG_7714[1]

“I have no idea.  Why don’t we just talk into it.”  Seriously, give the kid a toy and he wants to ask the hard questions;)

IMG_7717[1]

Of course Beary could not be left out of the action.  He had to talk into the “microwave” (never did quite remember the correct name) as well.

By the end of the session Corbin was crooning away to the hits of Trust and Obey and ABC.

Maybe this $1.00 microphone will be what starts a budding singing career, journalism job, or a successful sportcaster?  When fame and fortunate hits we can all remember when and look back to this post…this moment that started it all.  Hey you never know, right?;)

Bouncin’ Around

Cousin Collin turned the big 4!  To celebrate we attended his birthday party at an inflatable party place.

Corbin had a great time bouncing, climbing, and playing all around these huge inflatables.

IMG_7645[1]

Chris and I got in on the fun as well.  We might have had a little race between us on an inflatable.  Chris will tell you he soundly beat me.  But the true story is I was stopped by a child and I had to wait and go around this child.  I was slowed way down therefore the race is null and void.

Watch out Williams, I’ll be back and we will race again;)

Back to the reason we were there…we had a fabulous time celebrating with Collin.  Happy Birthday!
